معادلة الشهاده في السويد هي مشابه لما موجود في النرويج وهي بالنسبه لخريجي الشرق الاوسط دراسه لمدة سنتين في كلية الطب البيطري لتغطية امراض الخنازير وامراض الحيوانات الصغيره وصحة الغذاء. اما ممارسة المهنه فبعد الدراسه يجب ان تقدم الى مراقبية سلامة الغذاء للحصول على اجازة العمل وهي كالاتي
Authorization and licences to practise as a veterinarian, aqua medicine biologist or veterinary nurse

Any person wishing to practise as a veterinary surgeon, as an aqua medicine biologist or as a veterinary nurse in Norway must be authorized by or hold a licence issued by the Norwegian Food Safety Authority. The rules regarding authorization can be found in Chapter 2 of Act No. 75 of 15 June 2001 relating to veterinarians and animal health personnel.
How to apply
All applications for authorization/licence should be send to the Norwegian Food Safety Authority (except some groups of students, see licence below).
Applicants should only give information about their place of work if they have reliable information about relevant work they will carry out after being granted authorization or licence. This may be information about both employment and self-employment. “Main field of work” is the special field in which the applicant intends to work most (food-producing animals, horses, small animals, hygiene, fish, research, education, diagnostics or public administration).
The following must be enclosed with your application:
Certificates or other documentation from your educational institution(s) which show clearly that you have completed adequate training
Documentation showing your date of birth and national identity number, documentation of any change of name and citizenship
All copies must be certified by a public official or a printing office confirming that they are true copies of the original document.
If one or more of the required documents is not enclosed or is not in order, your application will not be processed until you have provided the correct documentation.
Application for authorization
Veterinarian
Applicants who have received their education as veterinarians at the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science will usually be given authorization. This is stipulated in the act relating to veterinarians and animal health personnel (see link to the right).
Applicants who have received their education as veterinarians in EEA countries can also be given authorization. One of the conditions for authorization is that the applicant is a citizen of an EEA country. This is stipulated in Regulations No. 77 of 19 January 2009 (see link to the right).
Applicants who have received their education as veterinarians in countries outside the EEA may be given authorization if their education is of the same academic standard as the education given at the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science or if they can provide documentation that they have the required knowledge. This is stipulated in the act relating to veterinarians and animal health personnel (see link to the right). In most cases this will require additional training at the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science. Persons who have not taken additional training in Norway should contact the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science for information about such training before applying for authorization.
The following must be enclosed with your application in addition to the documents mentioned under the section How to apply if you finished your education outside Norway for more then 1 year ago:
Confirmation of unlimited authorization (”letter of good standing”) from a foreign public authority
Aqua medicine biologist
Applicants who have received their education as aqua medicine biologists at the University of Bergen or University of Tromsø will usually be given authorization.
Applicants who have received their education as aqua medicine biologists in EEA countries can also be given authorization. One of the conditions for authorization is that the applicant is a citizen of an EEA country. This is stipulated in Regulations No. 77 of 19 January 2009 (see link to the right).
Veterinary nurse
Applicants who have received their education as veterinary nurses at the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science will usually be given authorization. This is stipulated in Regulations No. 657 of 27 May 2003 (see link to the right).
Applicants who have received their education as veterinary nurse in EEA countries can also be given authorization. One of the conditions for authorization is that the applicant is a citizen of an EEA country. This is stipulated in Regulations No. 77 of 19 January 2009 (see link to the right).
Application for a licence
Veterinarian, aqua medicine biologist and veterinary nurse
Animal health personnel lose their authorization when they reach the age of 75. Persons wishing to continue to work as animal health personnel after the age of 75 must obtain a medical certificate which confirms that the applicant’s health is suitable for justifiable activity. These licences may be limited to certain fields of work and are usually granted for two or three years at a time. This is stipulated in the act relating to veterinarians and animal health personnel (see link to the right).
The following must be enclosed with your application in addition to the documents mentioned under the section How to apply:
medical certificate (only required for animal health personnel after the age of 75 ) which confirm that the applicant’s health is adequate for justifiable practice
Persons who do not fulfil the conditions for authorization (e.g. persons who have trained in countries outside the EEA) may apply for a licence to practise as animal health personnel in a limited field. These licences are limited in time and to certain fields of work. Applicants must specify which field of work they are interested in, for example work in meat control.
Students/assisting duty
Short-term student licences are granted pursuant to Regulation No. 838 of 10 April 1985 (see link to the right). The applicant must have agreed to work under the supervision of one or more specific veterinarians for one or more given periods. This must be set out in a written declaration by the veterinarian(s), see special form. Student licences are not normally granted for periods exceeding six months.
Students at the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science who are not on the School’s list of qualified students and students at educational institutions outside Norway should send their applications to the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science, which will then forward the applications with their recommendation (in the appropriate space) to the Norwegian Food Safety Authority.
The following must be enclosed with your application in addition to the documents mentioned under the section How to apply:
Description of the desired licence (field of work, period of time, name(s) of veterinarian(s) you wish to act as your supervisor(s))
Declaration from the veterinarian(s) you wish to act as your supervisor(s) with stipulated period of time and responsible veterinarian(s), see special form to the right.
Remember to apply early. The Norwegian Food Safety Authority has limited staff during vacations.
